The Ultimate Guide to Reefer Tank Containers: Your Best Choice for Temperature-Controlled Transport
When handling temperature-sensitive cargo, selecting the appropriate reefer tank container is crucial. Whether transporting food products, chemicals, or pharmaceuticals, maintaining an exact temperature is essential for product integrity. At Danteco Industries, we specialize in reefer tank containers that offer dependable, energy-efficient cooling solutions for global logistics.
What is a Reefer Tank Container?
A reefer (refrigerated) tank container is a specialized ISO tank container equipped with a cooling unit. These tanks transport liquids requiring temperature control, such as food-grade liquids, chemicals, and pharmaceutical products.
Unlike standard ISO tank containers, reefer tanks have built-in refrigeration units that ensure consistent temperatures—even in extreme climates.

Klinge Corporation End or Side Mounted Model

The Refrigerator Unit, Model TCR-109, heats and cools the tank’s cargo by circulating brine (glycol) or synthetic oil around external cooling coils around the tank. The unit is designed so that the mechanical section fits on the side of the container, and the electrical control box is at the end, easily accessible when stacked at a terminal or onboard vessels.
This system transports hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food (foodstuff) products, and beverages.
Cooling System
A 14-run system consists of eight (8) runs that straddle the spillage trays on the upper half of the tank and six (6) runs located in the lower half of the tank. The runs are made of 304L/316L stainless steel.
